Ripoff, Had Repoed Car moved to different storage lot same day all fees paid, charging xtra tow/storage

My car was repossessed, I contacted Wells Fargo Acceptance Corp, my finance company, the next day and made arrangements to pay. 5 days later I paid all fee's via Quick Collect Wire Transfer. I immediately called them to report payment and also faxed them all relevant documents (insurance, DL, wire transfer confirmation, etc..) I was told it would take an additional 24-48 hours to process (???) I asked if I was responsible for additional storage after paying all fees. Of course I was. No surprise there.

The next morning after several calls to WFFA I was told that everything was in order and to go ahead and pick up the car. They gave me the tow/storage facility information and a couple of hours later I called them for directions and costs, and was very surprised to find out that WFFA had had the car moved to a different yard the day before. (the SAME day I paid all fees and informed them by phone and fax.) Also San Diego Auto Recovery had no idea where it had been taken, although my personal possessions were still there. (???)

I called WFFA back and the lady who I had been dealing with (who was very nice, polite and helpful) Ronni G. Had no idea what I was talking about. So I was getting kind of pissed and concerned about the car. I sat on hold for many minutes, she came back on and told me the car had been moved the day before (DUH!), No notes had been posted, but they were there now. (After I told her!) She said she didn't know where the car was, but would call me back. I asked who was responsible for ordering the move and if I could contact that person to find out where my car was taken and why, She couldn't give me that information. I then asked If I was expected to pay for the new and completely unnecessary towing fees and storage and was told yes.

The first tow and storage I had no problem with, (I didn't like it) I was responsible for the payment, I let it get behind and there you go. However this one I have a big problem with. The car was moved AFTER I reported payment in full. I was told by SD Auto recovery. That WFFA tells them how much to charge for tow and storage, it is up to them, so it is totally arbitrary, they charge what they want, and an extra tow that cost them 50-100 bucks or whatever can cost the consumer 2 or 3 times that. There is no choice but to pay.

In my opinion this is definitely a rip-off. I am actually waiting to find out where my car is as I am posting this. While waiting I went online to see what's out there RE: WFFA and found this site. At least I get to vent, Thanks.
