And My Stolen Car Stereo I believe they are responsible for the theft of my car stereo

I took out a car title loan with VIP Finance in Richardson, TX. After calling to report that I would make a payment and making said payment that weekend, they assured me that my car would not be reposessed. I woke up Tuesday morning and my car was gone. They told me that I could not pay or re-finance my car loan and that I had to pay them about $1220 to get my car back.

I borrowed the money from my father and went to get my car back today, Thursday. When I got there the man there told me that "I must have a fan" and I asked him what he meant. He told me that someone came and got my car stereo for me. I asked him if my car had been broken into and he said that someone must have broken into my car overnight. He then told me that I had to wait for someone to come back from lunch to get my car.

After waiting about 20 mintues he told me that I could go look at the car if I wanted. The car was parked in the back lot where they store the reposessed cars. There is a chain link fence with barbed wire across the top. I went to my car and found the drivers side door unlocked. The console was ripped out and the stereo was gone. They had taken my son's carseat and moved it and ripped out the carpeted panel off the back seat to remove the speakers. Also, they had opened my trunk and removed the contents, removed the sub-woofer, and put everything back.

They told me that it was broken into but I question this. I asked him if they bothered to lock my car and he said that the way they "got" it is how it was parked. I told him that I AlWAYS lock my car doors.

I believe that they are the ones who stole my car stereo. First of all, there was no sign of forced entry into my car. Secondly, someone had the time and was comfortable enough in their surroundings to remove all of the contents of my trunk (and there is a lot of stuff back there) and put it all back. They damaged my car, the front console is ripped out, the back cover is gone. There is about $2000 worth of damage to my vehicle. I do not believe that anyone broke into their locked, barbed wire fence.

I called the police and they were able to lift two fingerprints off the console. I really don't think they thought I would return to claim my vehicle. I am not sure what legal recourse I have, but I would really appreciate any advise on this matter. I believe it was very, very wrong to do what they did to my car. I not only paid them over 3x the ammount I borrowed, but I believe they stole my car stereo.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
