Cars & Transport

The A/C on my car was not blowing cool. I had a ASE certified technician from my job check the freon levels and added some.

Two days later it was no longer blowing cold, so with my hope in my hands, I took it into Domestic Auto Experts. I told them the same thing, about it not blowing cold, and the freon recharge not lasting. Their best resolution was to top up the freon once again, and "bring her back in a week". Like I have all the time in the world.

SO I come back next week, (Mind you, this is Hot-June in Texas) and they keep the car all day. When they called to tell me that my AC compressor was leaking, I gave them the go ahead to replace it.

Their "USED/Refurbished" Compressor costed 20% more than six different prices of a NEW compressor online. (no b.S. There, CHECK YOUR COSTS) SO much for their "Only 10% profit" margin sign they hang everywhere.

Well, so they put the refurbished compressor on, and send me on my way. A couple of weeks later, the AC is not cold anymore.

I take it back, and they keep the car all day, then call me up and tell me its all done! Yay! I say to myself. I go to pick up the car and some sloppy highschool trainee gives me the "Oh, I am sorry Mr. X, I told you the wrong thing, we found a leak on an a/c hose, here, come take a look. So I go out in the shop and their non-english speaking technician haphazardly pointed to a wet spot on an area of the hose that was NEVER wet before!

NEVER ever ever! And I was in, around, and under that thing long before I took it to DEA. This "leak" would have been evident the first time I put the car in. So now, I have to pay for an expensive hose replacemtn that they caused by manhandling the system. (simple as that. Mis-diagnosis and wrenching the system apart) Okay I say, I will pay for it, just to get the dam thing out of your shop, and out of your hands.

Well, $1600.00 later, I got a refurbished AC compressor that sounds like a jet engine when I turn on the AC and drive.

IT never sounded like that before, and it just sucks to have to go somewhere pay so much, and never "be" right. I got the runaround like you would not believe, so far as to have the manager tell me their sob story about having to make money on parts and labor. I see how they do that, by making matters worse.By the time I left there, I was ready to drive the car through the front office.

Managers are trained in deception. Simple fact.
Foolish me, my wifes car was having some feul problems,
I took her car there (what a dumazz I was), because her feul pump was not initializing upon first start up, and sometimes the car wouldnt start. I took it in to have them diagnose the problem, and their BEST POSSIBLE EXPERT solution was to pull the dash cluster out, replace the feul gauge, (Oh, we have to send it into our "tech?" shop and have them do it, it will be back Next Tuesday).

HOW stupid can you fricken be? I pulled the fuel tank, replaced the fuel pump with a 200 dollar jobby from Autozone, and the car/gauge/etc. Now runs and starts like a champ. And I didnt have to rely on DAE ridiculous inability to diagnose. That "cluster repair" would have cost me $1400.00.

To find out that it would not have fixed a single thing.

I have since gone back once, to get an inspection. There were eight white shirted sales people around the desk, and two shop guys working out in the garage. Ive never watched crooks in the training phase before. They said they could get me on the "list" of inspections for three hours later. I had a finger for them.

Whoever this guy, that responded to the above ripoff complaint is a paid, trained, Domestic Auto Expert, LIAR.

THESE PEOPLE ARE LIARS AND THIEVES, SAVE yourself the trouble.

They will tell you anything and everything to take your money, to break your car, and make you pay more to fix it. They are "trained" in how to do this sort of thing.
I would happily take my 1600.00 out of that managers scrawny arse.
