Cars & Transport

On February 15, me and my wife went to look at car dealerships after a doctor's visit. My wife is 8 months pregnant. She had twins and lost one early on due to complications. We have had a lot of other complications throughout the pregnancy. We own a two door car and decided we needed a four door car. So, we found ourselves at Classic Cadillac Atlanta Corp.

We were greeted by a gentleman named Ed Silver. He showed us a CTS Cadillac and let my wife drive it. He then brought us back to the showroom and gave us a sales pitch. I told him I was GMS, that my father retired from General Motors. Ed went to check with his finance manager and came back with a $33,000 price. It was getting late and we were trying to get everything in order.

We were talked into trading our 2000 Honda Accord EX. We signed the paperwork and was asked to clear up a matter at BB&T. The dealership said to go ahead and drive the car home. So the next day we started working on our BB&T account.By Monday we had things cleared up. Clay at Classic Cadillac called and asked if we could bring over $1,000 more when we brought a letter from BB&T.

Monday night we were reading over the paperwork we received and found to our surprise that we bought ourselves a lease. We were at no time informed that the car was being leased. We would never have traded a car we owned outright. We took the car back on Tuesday and said we do not want to lease the car. They looked the car over, gave back our Honda and we left.

We later looked a two more dealerships trying to find the CTS-V we were originally looking for. The dealers were initially happy to help us until they ran our credit. At that point, they would tell us that our best bet was to lease a car and to bring a pay stub or our tax returns form last year. We couldn't understand the hassle.

Finally we went to Hayward Allen Cadillac. They told us that there was no way they would put us in a Cadillac. The went on to tell us that we had been Shot gunned That Classic Cadillac had submitted our credit application to twelve banks with one or both of us as having no income. Now for two years, if we go for a loan and do not submit it exactly like Classic submitted it, we will be denied. All this without our permission and waited two weeks after we returned the car and refuse to talk to us about correcting their 'accidental mistake'
