Ripoff took advantage of college student

My oil light came on in my 01 mitsubishi montero and it started making a loud claning noise. I pulled over and shut off the car for over 2 hrs. When I started the car again it was still making noise and light was still on. I drove the care about 1/2 mile and the light went off and stoped making the noise.

The car was also "not running right". The RPM's were going up high but it just wouldnt go. I took it to the North Brady Imports and they were going to hook it up to a computer and would get back with me. A few hrs later they called and could not find anything wrong, so they suggested looking a little further into the motor. So I told them to do what they had to do. They kept it over weekend and I called them on Monday morning.

I went to get it today. They found nothing wrong with the vehicle and get this, charged me $500.00. I dont know much about cars, but I feel like they just took advantage of a college girl. What do you guys think?
