I test drove a 2000 VW Passat there and the engine light went on and it was bucking. I told the attendent and he said he would check the code. He came back and told me it's just a spark plug it has been sitting for a while. "we haven't had a chance to take a good look at it yet". I left the dealership and my husband went back a few day's later. Saw the same car test drove it and there was no engine light on. So we decided to buy it.
I picked up the car and as soon as I drove it of the lot the engine light went on again. I showed them and they said it was just bad gas they would put good gas in and it would be fine. I told them I wanted someting in writing that said I could take it to a VW dealer and get it checked and if it was something other then "bad gas" I want my money back. So they gave me that and I left. I took it out that afternoon and the engine light went on again and it was bucking again. We also found out that the windshield washer pump didn't work either.
We called the same night and told them we would be there in the morning to get our trade-in back and get out bank check and cash they said OK. Then when we got there they told us we could take our trade back but the money was in a safe and only the manager of the store had the key. Yeah Right!
Went back the next day spoke with the manager (who by the way had a diffrent name and title the day I bought the car. Isn't that amazing? They gave me my check but said they couldn't give me my $200 in cash because the gentle men that was there the night before has it with him. I told him I would come back with the cops. He told me to leave his store and he didn't want me on his property. He told me I was lucky he gave me some of my money back.
