I purchased my 2001 Montero Sport in Oct. Upon entering Southlake I told the salesman I didnt want to spend alot of time if he could not get it done. He assured me that he could. He pulled around the Montero it was the last of his 2001's they were trying to make room for the 2002. We test drove it the next thing I knew we were sitting in the finance office.

They briefly explained this Diamond Advantage program. I wanted to make sure it was not a lease due to the amount of miles I traveled regularly. They assured me it was the benefits of a lease b/c you could trade it in or just keep it and continue to pay the payments. The assured me it was not a lease. I made sure of it asking it serveral times prior to leaving the dealership. Even a week or so afterwards.

The next issue I began having trouble with the vehicle. Something was wrong with the tires. After several months of letter writing and complaining. They finally replaced the tires. They refused to replace them with the quality tires that was on the vehicle when I purchased it. This left the sour taste in my mouth with the dealership itself.

Then I find out that MMCA sold my account to SST. This is when the games began. They would call constantly. The payment was never reflected in the letters. And they were very nasty and smart mouthed customer service or should I say collection people. The letters would always say I owed something that I didnt not. When I would question them they would say they didnt have the payment. They said send it straight to them not MMCA. I never got documentation that the account was actually sold. My issue was that that statements stopped coming during the time they claimed they had the account. Now I found out that the account is back with MMCA.

My new issue is this program. I just got a call from a gentleman who actually works with Rick Case but some how has my information though I bought the vehicle at Southlake Mitsubishi. He went on to tell me I should be mad at Southlake b/c I was in a leased vehicle. And the car needs to be turned in in 5-6mths. I needed to hurry and bring it to him so he could get me out of it and put me in a 2005. He said I would be in trouble b/c I went over the mileage with the lease. I explained to him that I was never told that this was a lease program - and as he could see me having 140k miles on it proves that fact. He said each day I drive the car I am making my situation worse. I dont have any time to spare. I need to get in to him right away or he wont be able to help me. He wanted me to know he had about 2k to play with in the 2005 that should help me with the balloon payment.

I feel so "ripped off". Now I am in a vehicle that will cost me more then $20k to get out of. After having it for 4yrs. Plus it has very high mileage I can only assume that they will make me pay a per mile price since it is a "leased" vehicle. I have no idea what to do. But, I just assume I will go and get "screwed" by another dealer rather then Mitsubishi again.

If there is a class action suit I would welcome the opportunity to be involved with it. I know my I would have taken another avenue if I knew that the vehicle was a lease.
