Paid for listed '65 corvette $5200 but did not receive www.ebaymotors.com perfect highway for fraudulent sellers to prey upon novices

I found a "65 corvette listed on ebay motors.info on it required me to email the seller to pronounce my interest. I did and when I returned to ebay's sight the listing was gone. The next day I received an email from the seller who pulled the listing, but would still sell it to me for the buy it now price if I was interested. I was and he said he would inform ebay to confirm the sale and send instructions. I contacted ebay to request full disclosure on the seller and item. I received official confirmation from ebay to proceed with the purchase and follow there detailed payment terms. They also afforded me complete buyer protection whereby my funds would be returned should the item not ship within 3 business days or should the item not be as advertised. Ebay would withhold the sellers escrow to pay me back should the need arise. I wired the $5200 to the seller through western union per ebay's payment instructions and faxed to ebay copy of the western union receipt and control number. Ebay then confirmed I had made good on payment and instructed the seller to proceed with shipment. The transaction took place 1/31/06 with money wired 2/1/06. On Friday Feb. 3rd I received feedback from ebay security in response to my original inquiry, they had no record of the seller or the item and recommended I block any transaction.By the time they responded, the transaction was complete, the money was gone, and ebay motors provided the perfect venue for me to be ripped off. I can find the exact scam on ebay motors nightly, the cars are different, but the house in the background is the same. Ebay motors offers no help since it is not their problem.

While I can see my fault in pursuing a deal to good to be true, it remains that Ebay Motors is the perfect highway for fraudulent sellers to prey upon novices. The sight needs to have a cigarette type warning panel that blinks relentlessly and gives off a smoke alarm at all times. Beware.
