Ripoff guarantee refusal - intentional damage - credit card fraud

Having a water pump repaired on a 92 oldsmobile with low miles, I was very dissatisfied when the head gasket blew within miles from the shop. Bringing it back closer to home tires plus shot and where they knew my car, Tires Plus' own mechanic said that the Coral Springs store did not install the pump correctly causing the gasket to blow and sent me to the Coral Springs store.in fact, Tires Plus' own mechanic said that my car was in excellent shape, good for another 70,000 miles. Returning to the Coral Springs store they refused to fix the car. Funny how repair shops always blame the customer. HMM, MAYBE THAT IS WHY THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS AND LAW SUITS.

I contacted the store manager and he was to see what the store would do. Waiting a month and having to rent a car, I contacted the manager. Conveniently, the manager was no longer there and the new manager said he would refund the price of the water pump which is on my credit card if and only if I would not hold them responsible for the head gasket. We talked awhile and after I mentioned that their own certified mechanic said the problem was at the Coral Springs and not the foolish and fruadulant attempt to say the car overheated, he (Scott Graves) said he would refund the price of the water pump as it was leaking and I was not satisfied and 1/2 of the price of the head gasket. I asked for it in writing. I then agreed as requested the credit to be put on my credit card as a generous offer and that they would not be out cash and I could go to a different Tires Plus store. And, I waited and waited.

This problem has been going on for 7 months and I keep getting different stories. The latest is that I was to get a call and an email to settle the matter this week. No response as yet.in the mean time, I have taken the car to certified mechanics who say that the problem is most likely negligence. Equally, I have talked to other customers who have had similar experieces with the Coral Springs store and I had the occasion to speak with a former employee of Tires Plus who said that it was not beyond Tires Plus to intentionally cause a part to break down so that they can increase their revenues. They are readily available to fleece the customer out of additional cash, and in this case, charge twice the amount for the repair, but not interesting in integrity or honest treatment of the customer. I am very leary of their business practices and the sneaky way of trying their best not to put anything in writing. But I suppose, that is why there are so many cases against repair shops and why some have been charged with criminal activities.
