Ripoff Fradulent, Incompetent Bull

On 11/3/05 I took car to Cottman Transmission to have my transmission rebuilt. After repair was complete, it was still not working properly. I made 4 returns to the shop for miscellaneous work to make good on their repairs, and on the 4th visit I was told my car would not start and that it was being towed to Honda to have security codes reset. After a few calls over the next 2 days to find out what was going on I was told to call Honda myself. I did and was told they had been performing diagnosis on my vehicle.

End result was that 3 electrical components were fried while the car was in the transmission shops possession and total cost to repair was $858.77 which I paid to get car back. I sent 2 written requests via certified mail to owner of Cottman requesting reimbursement of the monies paid to Honda. I received 1 phone call from owner after 1st letter saying he would call Honda to verify some things and that he'd get back to me. I haven't heard back since. My car had to be returned to Cottman yet again because transmission is still not working right.

As of the date of this letter, I still do not have my car back and they have had it this time since December 20 (10 days & counting). Also during this current return to their shop, I have been getting the run-around when calling for status, being told 2 different things by Mike and Al, not being offered a loaner and not being offered rental car compensation. During each return they end up fixing something that wasn't done during the initial rebuild, whereas 2 experts I have spoken with concur that everything they've repaired since the first visit should have been done in the initial rebuild. So today I am told that car WILL be ready for sure, then later am told maybe, once again. I am starting to wonder if I will ever see my car again, & if I do, if it will ever be the same. This is a VERY BRIEF synopsis of all that's transpired!
