Cottmans Transmisions
Steals money, parts, car stereos, and other equipment in vehicle

Cars & Transport

In Nov my 1995 Ford F-150 broke down just outside of Paris, Tx. I took my truck to Cottmans because they were a "reputable" nationwide company. After about 6 months and 2100 dollars they tell me my truck is ready and if I dont pick it up they were gonna put a mechanics lein on it. I drove from southern Louisana to Paris, Texas to pick it up and they told me my truck was not finished they were waiting on one more part so I told them I would come back on Monday afternoon to pick it up.

When I came back my stereo, computer and other stuff was stolen from my vehicle. I filed a police report on the stolen goods and that was about all I could do about that. A few weeks Later I try to call the shop only to find out it had gone out of business. I called Carol at the corporate office and she said a new shop was opening up down the street and they would finish my truck after it had opened.

A month passed and the new shop opened, the new owner called me to find out about my truck and I let him know what was going on and what was paid for, he said he would take care of it. About a month later they called me and said I needed to send them a copy of my reciept so I faxed themn a copy. The corporate office said they were not going to honor it because it was a hand written reciept (all the reciepts from that location are hand written.) The new owner was willing to work with me a try to get corporate to allow him to fix it but Carol would not allow it. The new shop could not find my transmission, clutch assembly, or any parts for my truck.

Now it's a year later and the "new" shop is closed and I cannot get ahold of anybody from Cottmans to find out anything about my truck. My advise is if you are planning to take your vehicle to Cottmans you might want to get your head examined because all they seem to do is rip honest, hard working people off. I do not know for sure if it was Carol from corporate office or Benny Kelso (who was the owner at the time) that is the rip off artist but I feel it is Cottmans name and they should take care of it.
