Faulty repairs, brakes went out second day if ownership on the highway, transmission and leaks within first month of ownership

Solomon Garrett of Garrett Auto Sales sold me a 1998 Ford Taurus. Two days after the purchase the brakes stopped working in the middle of traffic, fortunately I was able to ease myself to the side of the road before any damage could occur.

I called Mr. Garrett about it and he treated it as nothing. I told him he needed to fix the car before I would set foot in it again. He told me that he would do any repairs that the car needed for free.

Still I was charged $285 for the repairs and a windshield. I also asked him to check out the transmission because the car was jerking. He told me everything, including the brakes before repairs, was working perfectly.

I drove it again but I still didn't have too much brake pressure and the transmission was lashing pretty hard, so I took it to a repair shop and they said just the opposite, master cylinder needs replacing, brakes shoes and pads, a variety of leaks including the brake fluid, and the transmission has a sever lash.

I got most of it fixed but not the transmission. It totaled $630. I still had to drive it to my job interview while it was rolling backwards and it would not accelerate over 30 miles on its own. This all occurred within one month of the purchase.

Finally, I got tired of it and I traded it in at a dealership and they gave me $400 for the car. I was heartbroken.
