AAA Discount Auto Glass
Poor company and work

Cars & Transport

Well, I had a broken windshield so I opened the phone book and started calling to see who would have the best price. After calling a couple dozen places I found that AAA Discount Auto Glass had a big two full page ad and a BBB seal, so I figured they were reputable enough to complete this job, and they also were the cheapest. So I pick their phone number for my area (they have 10 numbers that seemingly all ring the same phone, if you are outside of their home office area you have to pay an extra fee for their driving) and call them up. So they send out their guy to do the windshield and he finishes up and leaves.

Afterwards I look it over and realize that the window trim is not stuck down, it was completely loose and there was also a big air leak in the left side of the windshield. Along with this the registration and inspection stickers had fallen off due to his poor job of transferring them to the new windshield, and the registration now shows "void." So I call up the company who tells me that all warranty work must be done at their main office which is about a 45 minute drive for me on a day without traffic (which in Houston is something that never happens).

Eventually after complaining to about three people I get somebody to agree to send the person back out to my house to fix it. But they say that they will NOT fix the stickers because they "transfer them to the new windshield as a courtesy." My question is that if it is a courtesy why do the state they do it prominently in their advertisement just like every other windshield repair company in town? So they fix the trim and leak problems and two days later I pull the tape off only to find out that in the process of removing my old windshield they gouged the paint around the trim in about 10 places all the way through the primer down to bare metal. They say that they are not going to fix this and deny responsibility even though I have pictures that I took of the broken windshield the day before they fixed it that show no scratches in the same places.

Also, the glass they put on is not of good quality, it gets dirty basically by just looking at it, and seems a lot thinner than the original windshield. It is a XYG safety glass brand windshield and I don't think that it even comes close to OEM quality. Personally I say this company is garbage along with the quality of their work, use another company to replace your windshield there's too many of them to settle for this place.
