On March 20th of this year, I went down to Bill Heard Chevrolet Town Center with my mother and 6 year old daughter to see about getting the new 2005 Cobalt. I had done some research on the Cobalt on the Chevy website, i had even went as far as building my own car with the features that i had wanted in it, plus i went to where the GMAC where they have had the leases and it told you how much you would be paying monthly if you fianaced. My mother called up the dealership and talked with a saleperson name Darrell Peeples and he told her to just come on down to the dealership and he would see what they could do.

So the next day (March 20), we went to the dealership and looked for Mr. Peeples whom we found and he showed us the Cobalts. We had stated to him that i was looking for a black one with not that many features, i was basically looking for a car that was no more than $15,000 dollars and in the color i wanted. Well we looked at several but we did find one that was around the price and style that i had wanted. Mr. Peeples went to get the keys for us to take a test drive. We went on the test drive and i had to admit that the car was so smooth and it drove really really well. So when we got back to the dealership, we went to start the paperwork.

This is when the whole thing went down the toliet...

When we went inside and they put us in the cubicle next to where the salesmen went to get whatever information about ones credit they needed. He came and brought us the papers and me and my mother filled out the paperwork. Well once Mr. Peeples left, it would be about another 2 hours before he came back, when he did, he stated to us that on my credit, i had some student loans from when i was in college that were on there and i couldnt get it in my name, but my mother could sign it in hers. Which urked my mom because she didnt understand why even though i did have the loans why i couldnt get it in my name since i was the main one who was gonna be driving it. But after some talk, we decided to just go on ahead and let her sign it under hers.

Well once these papers were signed, we waited another 4 hours tops in that small cubicle, my daughter was restless and complaining about she was hungry and so my mom took her to get a snack. I was tired emotionally as well as physically because i suffer from severe RA. During this entire time, Mr. Peeples would be walking around and telling me that they were still processing everything. But he did eventually asked me what i planned on putting down for a down payment on the car. I was so nervous at this time that i told him i didnt know, but when my mom came in, she stated that we had planned on making a trade in on my recent car, which was a 1995 Ford Explorer with a number of 184,000 miles on it at the time.

Mr. Peeples went to test drive the car and when he came back, he told us to our surprise that the trade in worth on the car was only worth $500. We told him that what we would do was that we would try and sell the car ourselves because we knew we would get more than $500 for the car. He gave us 21 days from that date (which made it April 10) to get up the $2000 for the down payment. My mom wrote a post dated check for $2000 and we waited once more to talk with the Finacial Manager.

This would be another wait of about 2 more hours...

Glenn Shiflett, the Finacial Manger was a character in his own. When we came in, he told us about a extended warranty protection plan that made the monthly payments go even higher. We had stated earlier to Mr. Peeples that i had wanted to make payments of no more than $250 dollars a month because i was on a very fixed income. The payments were now almost $300 dollars.

Well after Mr. Shiflett "sweet talked" me and my family, showing my daughter his fish tank that he had in his office and constantly calling me and my mom "darling" which i found funny as hell cause he was slick as well as funny.

Well we ended up driving off with that car, we was THE last people as far as customers to leave that dealership, which was around 9 pm.

Well during the whole entire time, we tried to sell my Explorer but to no avail, we had put several ads on the internet and had gotten alot of responses but none wanted the car.

On April 1 (April Fools Day of all days), i had gotten a call from Mr. Shiflett on my cell phone. He had wanted to talk with my mother about some papers that she wanted her to sign. So after talking with him, i called my mom and told her to call him, which she did and when i got home, she told me that we probably needed to take back the car because they had came up with some more bullshit, wanting her to come and sign the "SAME" papers that she had originally signed in the first place. Because GMAC had not approved my mother but he wanted us to fill out more papers with another finacial company to finaced the car and make the monthly payments go up to $417 a month.

So that Sunday, we went to take the car back and when we did get up there, we went to give Glenn the keys to the car, but he was busy as the receptionist told us, so we left the keys with her. I could hear her calling up Glenn as we made our way back out to my car and when we got into our car, another salesman came out and was basically trying to sweet talk us somemore into trying to stay, asking us questions about what had happened.

Well to make a very long story short, this other guy came and asked my mom to sign an assessment of the car to make sure that the car wasnt damaged or anything like that. I was very skeptical about her doing that but she signed it anyways.

I have never had such an experience in my entire lifetime. Being a single mom who is also very disabled, this was very heartbreaking especially with the past experiences that i have had dealt with. I will never shop at Bill Heard as long as i live, and neither will i subject my daughter to such ungratefullness and shady operations.

I also found out that for one, they changed the price of the car from $15,043 to $16,743.76. Also they lied and said that my car was worth $500 as far as a trade in but when i went online to the Kelly Blue Book site, it stated that my car was worth $800 dollars more (around $1300).

So yeah... Dont ever buy from bill heard chevrolet!!!
