Dishonest unprofessional misleading short lived parts company

Well to start off my story sounds very similar to Jim's that I have just read off this web site. Let me correct myself, to all the complaints listed on this website.

I listed a parts request for a engine that would replace my toyota camry (5sfe). I had several responses to the request but chose to go with the one from Mid City Auto Salvage, first mistake. When something sounds to good to be true it usually is by rule of thumb. Well that saying couldnt be more correct than when I chose to order a engine that had 44,000 original miles for hundreds less than others that had 75,000 plus miles.

I filled out the internet app and then spoke with Shaun after several attempts to get through the select personnel at this fine establishment. I was givin a verbal contract that my engine would arrive in 7 to 14 days. Also there would be paperwork sent with the engine to verify the mileage in this contract. This did not happen, the engine arrived over a month later without the mileage verification paperwork, this is the first problem.

Second, I have 2 mechanics look at the engine to get installation quotes and I am questioned on the accuracy of the mileage stated for the engine.

Third after several contacts with MCA was told couldn't give vin# over the phone because of the history of the automobile that was wrecked for the donor part. I was told to go to the DMV for a copy of odometer mileage verification, as I did and mailed it to MCA.

Now after all of the above happened I contacted Shaun with the details and told him I have the vin# for the engine and progesses and tells me that I was sent the wrong engine and my correct engine with low miles is still on the shelve at MCA and the incorrect engine was pulled by mistake and shipped to me, and I believe this all except for the mistake part.

I was told that my correct engine would be shipped on 4-14-05. I made a comment that I would like to keep the old engine for some type compensation for the time lost on my end of the deal. Then he said the engine I recieved was supposed to go to a tech/trade school so they could rebuild it and all he has to do is pay for the parts, so the answer is no. I stated I should be compensated in some way, this angered him and he told me that he would pickup the wrong engine and refund me fully for the purchase, I agreed. I also have witness's of this conversation on my end as a repeated everything that was mentioned on both sides.

I get a call from Shaun asking for the vin# of the engine I have, when gave him the information he said it was not a good vin# and that I magically have the correct engine now. And was told that he wasnt going to speak with me anymore that I am dishonest and he doesnt deal with my type people.

This was just icing on the cake, we still have a dispute and that will not end the problem.

I am starting to seek legal advice and will be interested in taking class action law suits to be compensated for the false misrepesented sales tactics of this company. I have read all complaints and have faith for all, justice will be ours in the end.
