Ripoff, scammed me out of a deposit, won't return my money, i never bought the car, but yet they are keeping my $500.00

I was interested in purchasing a vehicle from this company for the price of $29,995. I was not too sure if I wanted the vehicle, so I left a $400.00 deposit so they could hold the vehicle for me. They also took another $100.00 for a credit check. The only thing I signed was a contract of sale. They never wanted to give me clear answers, and were just very eager to get rid of the car.

I requested financing information over the phone, such as terms and conditions, interest rate, and bank lender. They said the only way I could get this info, even after I gave them the deposit, was to come in when the bank representative would be there. The financing manager Francisco told me that all auto companies never give any information over the phone, which I later found out is in fact untrue and most likely had something to hide from me. So, by feeling this suspicion, I decided to cancel the contract and request my deposit back.

I never got my deposit back, even till this day (almost a month later) because Francisco told me to read the contract that states on the bottom that I cannot get a refund back if I request financing. I don't see why I should not get it back? Did I buy the car? No. Did I sign any financing forms or meet with the bank? No. So, why am I not entitled to my refund. This is $500.00 we are talking about here.

Please give this matter some thought. Why should these auto companies take advantage of me this way?
