Cars & Transport

To Whom It May Concern:

I purchased a vehicle from Sheehy Ford in Marlow Heights, MD which has been having problems since I bought it on February 9. I then two months later had to bring it in to be fixed on April 06 for a rattling noise when was accelerating and to have the fluids checked. I was issued a rental car from Mr. Curuso and sent on my way. The next day I was told my vehicle was ready and that it was fine Mr. John Cain said, The rattling was a characteristic of the vehicle it was just the oil dropping in the oil pan.

A month later on May 13 I brought the vehicle back again because of the same problem in which I spoke with Mr. John Cain again and he told me to bring it back on next Tuesday because the mechanic who would look at it was not in today. I followed up on that visit, but this time I called Mr. Cain who told me on that it was too busy for my car to get into service that day so I scheduled to come back later what was amazing about all of these events is they say I had appointments, but they never wrote any of them down.

Two months later I went back to Sheehy Ford in July this time it was a bit different, I have Power Care Warranty under Easy Care Warranty Advantage, which covers the following Mechanical Breakdowns or Failures: Engine, Transmission/Transfer Case, Driver Axle (Front/Rear), Seals and Gaskets, and Taxes and Fluids. It also has rental car reimbursement and towing reimbursement. I went to Mr. Cain and I told him once again what has been going on with my car and he told me he would have a look at it, but his time I would have to leave my vehicle overnight, which I did not have a problem with, if I could get a rental car, which my warranty covers. I was told by a gentleman named Mr. Curuso that my warranty did not cover a rental car and he was the same gentleman that issued my first rental car when I was there the very first time. I was also told by him that I would have to bring my car to them I could not take it somewhere else to be fixed and this was because my warranty was issued through the dealership. I went to Vetina, the young woman who got my truck financed, to make sure my vehicle had rental car coverage because I had not yet been sent a copy of my warranty papers and she gave me a copy of papers, they just were not my own. I showed him and he insisted that my car did not have rental car coverage, even after seeing it with his own eyes, so needless to say that day I left without leaving my car because I do not have other transportation.

I returned a week later and went through the same situation this time I spoke with a gentleman named Mr. Carl Good the floor manager and he told me that it was nothing he could do because he was in the sales department all he could do is maybe get me a rental car for a day just as a courtesy. At that point I was completely frustrated by this time I had noticed my odometer reading error and I went to try to get an oil change at the gas station. I asked them if they could fix the odometer they told me I would have to take it to the dealership, which I dreaded, because they would not know how to fix the vehicle.

In November I returned to Sheehy Ford to let them once again try to fix my truck and once again I was told the same things, so I just left. On February the 7 I finally gave up on Sheehy Ford and called my actual warranty company hoping to get some resolution and/or at least get my odometer fixed and when I spoke with the warranty company they told me that my warranty was no longer any good, so I asked could I get a refund for the money I paid for it and they said I had to go through the dealership because they issued the warranty policy. When I first called I asked to speak to Mr. Cain who was busy, so I called the sales manager Mr. Carl Good who stated very clearly that it was once again nothing he could do and that my warranty does not even cover the odometer he very abruptly said Sorry, Bye and hung up on me. So I called the finance office in Sheehy Ford hoping that I could at least get my money back and I spoke to women named Tammi and she said, If you want a refund that I would have to fax a letter stating that you want to cancel the warranty, which is not what I wanted to do I asked, Why do I have to cancel a warranty that will no longer give coverage for any services, then she repeated to me that if I wanted a refund I would have to give the dealership a cancellation letter. February 8 I once again went back to the Sheehy Ford dealership and spoke with Mr. Curuso and I told him that I wanted to know if I could get my vehicle put on the Diagnostic machine he said sure I could do it for you tomorrow and I thought finally some relief at last now I could finally know what was wrong with my car. He was writing up a ticket for me to come in for tomorrow and he asked me, What kind of vehicle do you have? And I told him it was a Buick and before I could even get out what type of Buick he said, We do not service Buick's here, you are going to have to take the car to a Buick dealer, we don't even have the schematics for a Buick and that was the final straw for me!

February 9 I called my warranty company one last time to make sure I just was not over reacting to what was told to me and this time I spoke with Carol Barnard who confirmed what I was told previously. I asked her about me having to cancel the warranty myself even though the warranty company will not fix ANYTHING that goes wrong with my vehicle because the odometer has been broken for so long and even if I get the odometer fixed I still wont have a warranty and Carol said, Well if you want a refund you have to cancel the warranty yourself and if you do not, the warranty will remain active, they just will never honor any of your claims. I have contacted my finance company to let them know about the situation and the company they deal with as far as financing Sheehy Ford's vehicles so I explained the situation and they could have cared less they said, Shay it is nothing that we can do we are just a finance company, so would you like to set up your next payment? I do not know where to turn to find help all the people who were on my side when I purchased the vehicle have some sort of amnesia so as you can see I am just tired! I am seeking satisfaction or resolution! I am truly not happy with Sheehy Ford, Household Automotive Finance and Easy Care Warranty Advantage.
