Thompson Ford
Ripoff Ford F-150 Lemon Truck

Cars & Transport

I purchased a brand new 2004 Ford F-150 in May. It had 123.4 miles on it when I drove it off of the lot.
It has been nothing but trouble since!

So far it has had 2 drive shafts, a rear axle dampener, and a complete rear axle installed.

There has been no improvement in the vibration, it actually seems to be getting worse.

It has been in for service no less than seven times since it was purchased.

The Service manager confided to me that He thought it was a Lemon. When asked to put that statement in the vehicle report he told Me that he could and would not. I guess He wants to keep His position with Thompson Ford. My sales man indicated that it was a lemon as well.

When I tried to get the dealership to swap the truck out for a new one. There offer was a blatent attempt to rip Me off. There offer was not to swap the vehicles as one would expect them to do, rather they wanted Me to do a trade in.

You'll enbjoy this part.

There offer was, 5,000.00 less than My pay off. The Truck I chose was magicly increased from 26k and change to over 34k and change.
My responce was pretty much what You would expect.
I: E: YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!!

I was not rude, nor was I disrespectful, I do not act like that. I tried talking to the sales man and He said there was not much that He could do. At this point I becam disgusted and have just recently taken the truck to another Dealership. So far they have not had any luck isolating the vibration. They tell Me it is in the drive line but cannot isolate it.

The truck handles very well, actually it is like riding on rails. Overall I do enjoy the truck. Being a life long Ford fan and coming from a family has been and are dedicated Ford Fans.

My Father purchased no telling how many Ford products, both new and used, over the years. My Brother and one of My sisters drive them exclusivly. I personally have had over twenty five of them over the years. This is My first brand new one and needless to say I am quite dissapointed, to say the least.

I have contacted the Nashville regional rep and He gave Me some song and dance about the universal joints angle not being correct.

My Brother is an aircraft Mechanic with over thirty years at FedEx. H eknows more about Ford products than most service techs. My best friend has eight years as a Service manager for Buick under His belt and currently builds motors in his own shop.

Both of them have told Me Fords responce has been a load of crap. They have both driven the "Blue Goose" (So named because of all of the screwing going on) Both of them have told Me that the vibration is in the drive line. Either the Engine, Transmission or a component there in.

At this point I have had it I do not have any confidence in the vehicle. Weather i have to hire an Lawyer and try to use the Tennessee Lemon law in order to get My money back (@ 12k in trade cash and rebates) or keep driving untill it has a catostrophic failure of some sort.

Any one out there with a simular problem please let Me know what was done to rectify the situation.
Was it repaired?

Returned to Ford?

Paint taken off and put on another truck?
Did You get a bucket of Chicken from the Counel and throw it at it?
