Ruined by credit rating

I spend 2.5 hours at the brick one day after signing for a purchase i was going to make several years ago a child screaming in my lap. I was frustrated and my child was tired and was not willing to wait anymore.
I cancelled the agreement and walked out. Not knowing several years later when applying for a loan I would have an account in the red on my credit score. Trying to pay this several times since at branches. And the kicker is it was for 12.00. I have been wanting to pay this so I can clear my credit rating.
Very poor way of handling customer complaints. I have called a number trans union had given me, after over an hour waiting to even speak with anyone, I got disconnected.
I would like to resolve this.
I nor anyone I know use bricks or HSBC credit services again.
If anyone can help with this I would appreciate it.
