Fraud at Mazda Village

Cars & Transport

I purchased a new car in June of 99 from Mazda Village in Clearwater, FL. The car I purchased is a 96 Mazda MX6 it had 25K miles on it. Due to prior bad experiences with used cars in the past I told both the sales person and the business manager that I would only buy the car if I had an extended warrenty. They both assured me I would. I filled out the paper work included in it was the warrenty and left with my new used car. About 4 days latter they called me and said my loan had not been approved through the original lender (AM South) but they had gotten approved with another lender (Nations) at a slightly higher interest rate but everything else was still the same. So I went back in and resigned papers and once again I was told everything was the same except the numbers were off a little. I really didn't think much about it until now.

In the past nine months I have had sveral things go wrong with the car, things that would not have been covered under a warrenty. Then about 2 weeks ago I found out I needed a new catalitic converter computer for my car. I had brought my car to a different Mazda dealer to be fixed and they told me I needed to call and find out which company my warrenty was through. I made the call only to find out that I have no warrenty when they switched the paper work they took the warrent off. I have both contracts as well as by warrenty brochere and have repeatedly contacted Mazda Village. They refuse to respond and I'm not sure of my next step. I never would have purchased the car without a warrenty. What should I do? Is this fraud? A girl in my office has a similar story with Mazda Village so this probably happens alot. Anything you could tell me would be very helpful!
