Cars & Transport

Our regular mechanic was too busy to fix our car before Christmas, so we had AAA tow it to Merrick & Fair.

Merick & Fair provided an estimate three times what the work would call elsewhere. So we asked them not to fix the car, we'd have it towed back home.

We called AAA and discovered that AAA will only tow once for an incdent, so we have to swallow the towing charge. That was OK, we'd deal.

However, Merrick & Fair said they will not release the car to a towing agency because we have a balance. I called to find out what the balance was for and it was for providing an estimate. I got pissed and they hung up on me.

They want over $100 to tell us they can do the repairs for $800 that anyone else can do for under $300.

My husband is on the phone with the Carlisle police right now. I happened on this site the other day and am here. Next is a call to the local Better Business Bureau and filing a local lawsuit.
