Deceptive tactics to buy overpriced jewelry samples

I posted my resume on Careerbuilder and was contacted by Final Touch Jewelry, Inc. (a
company owned by Raymond Rike but run by his son, Gary) out of Dallas, Texas to see
if I would be interested in a wholesale independent sales rep position. I was told up front
I would have to buy a $3000 samples kit but I later learned there were other size/amounts
I could get that I was not told about. Since I had no wholesale or jewelry experience I did
not know that this was not the norm in most cases to work as a wholesale rep. I went to
Dallas to ‘train’ and get my samples. I did not know the wholesale prices of the samples
until after I got home and unpackaged everything. I was appalled at how expensive everything was. I still tried to take orders but it was next to impossible. The orders I did get have gone unfulfilled for months and they will not respond. They also promised to replace broken pieces that they have not done. The scam is to “hire†reps from different cities mostly in the West,
Midwest, South and Southeast, and then require them to buy the overpriced samples.
You’re stuck with them then and no one will buy them. Final Touch does not support
their reps by returning phone calls or answering emails.
