Logans Roadhouse Restuarant
I was charged for 2 dinner entrees for myself even though I didn't order them and then forced to pay! Was it because I was the only White person in the restuarant?

It was a cold Tuesday night during bad winter weather and I was on my way back to my apartment from my client in Memphis. I decided to stop at Logans Roadhouse to get a beer and a little something to eat. I like to sit at the bar when dining alone and watch the sports on the big screens. I was the only customer in the restuarant at that time and I did notice that I was the only white person in there too, everyone else being african-american.

Talking to the bartender I told him that I didn't want a big meal that night because I had been out to lunch with some of our younger consultants earlier and wasn't starving. I ordered a combo plate, a small filet and 2 skewers of shrimp. A few minutes later the bartender walked back over and asked me what kind of steak would I like, sirloin, filet mignon, T-bone, etc. I didn't really expect that question so I said sirloin. He went away.

About 20 min. Later the bartender came back with my food, a huge sirloin steak that was overflowing the plate and 4 skewers of shrimp on another plate. It was way too much food for me but I figured Ok, I haven't been here before, maybe that's how they do it here. I ate as much as I could and when I was done I asked the bartender for the check. The check he brought over was much too high and he charged me for 2 dinner meals. I told him that that is not what I ordered and the bartender said that when you picked your steak, that changed the order. I said I wanted to speak to the manager. He said he'd go speak to the manager for me and took my bill. He came back and told me that the manager said that I had to pay!

Not much I could do at that point being of average size and the only white person in the place. I was on expense account because I was traveling but do NOT like getting ripped off.

Needless to say, I never went back to that restuarant and will tell as many people as possible about this experience to drive business away from a restuarant like that, and I do still have that receipt.
