McDonalds
Ripoff Terrible service if you're not black

Cafes, Bars, Restaurants

Last Friday my crew and I were working on a job near the McDonalds on Virginia Ave. Near Atlanta Airport. I don't usually eat at McDonalds but it was handy and traffic in the area was bad, so we stopped in for lunch.

Most of the customers in line were African-American as well as the entire staff on duty at the restaurant. Those customers were greetd with "welcome to McDonalds, may I take your order?" They also received a "thank you" after their purchase was completed.

When we got to the counter (2 of us are caucasian and 2 are hispanic) we were simply stared at by the counter person. Our food was plopped on the counter, bagged, and the only verbal exchange that took place was the amount we owed as we each received our orders. No "welcome to McDonalds" no "thank you for your order" no nothing!
The African-American customers behind us in line received the same freindly treatment as the ones that had been ahead.

I don't get it. If they want to serve blacks only they should put a sign on the door to that effect. I will certainly respect it and go elsewhere. (That is what I will do anyway)

I personally espouse Christian beliefs and have respect and courtesy toward all people. This experience saddened me as I (perhaps naively) thought we were beyond those days, especially in the Atlanta area.
