Shoney's Restaurants
15% upfront, salad bar only, 8 people and a baby trying to rip people off

Me and my family was in florida for our family vacation and we stopped off at Shoney's In Lake City, when the waitress asked us how many was in our party she made the comment that for any group over 8 people it was a 15% tip upfront. Needless to say my family was surpised, I mean it wasn't like the would be doing much considering we was all getting the salad bar so we would basically be serving ourself. Only thing she would be doing was getting our drinks and taking our orders. It was also rather rude of her to tell us we HAD to pay a 15% tip. After all i was under the impression that the customer got to decide how much a tip they was given, not the waitress or company. I could of understood if she was having to cook our meals and bring them to us and everything, but it wasn't like she was doing much. What was even more interesting was that when we went to leave the manager ondutie came out and said that it was like that everywhere. Only we drove a few more miles up the rode to another shoney's and we didn't have to do anything of the sort. I think personnel the was just trying to rip people off.
