Tony's Place
Makes its workers work in a slave shop employee abuse

Cafes, Bars, Restaurants

If you are looking for a job I would highly not recommend Tony's Place. It may look like a friendly job to start off with, but it isn't.

You have a set schedule, which is very nice, but if you ever need a day off, you won't get it. If your child is sick or you have a vacation planned, don't even think about asking it off. If you do you will get all the grief in the world and might even get fired. Even a minute late can get you fired.

You have to work five days a week and you start at 2:45 then you do not get out until at least 11 pm. That is only on weekdays. On weekends you won't get out until at least 1am or 2 am. You do not get a break at any time during these hours. They make people feel like they are in boot camp. If you even have to use the restroom you must report it.

There are hispanics working in the basement with the machines. All of the kitchen, except one, doesn't even speak much English so it is very hard to talk to them about your order if you are a waitress or vice versa.
The manager will get into your personal life and tell you what to do. I think that your personal life should have nothing to do with work. People shouldn't have to change the way they are to keep the job.

At the end of the night, you have to clean everything with a paint brush and then wipe it all down. There is only one vaccum for the entire store and you are told when it is your turn to use it. It is very old and barely even works anymore. The other "vetran" employees pick their favorites and the rest are just out of luck. You will be the one that does all the work while they sit there and do absolutely nothing, but share stories.
To top that off, there is "flashlighting" at the end of the night. You have to have one of the vetrans go through your section with a flashlight and you better pray you didn't miss a crumb or you will be crawling on the floor picking it up.

You are told not to report your tips, so if you make less than minimum wage that is too bad for you. They will tell you that you are lucky you don't have to report your tips so you should be gratefull. I thought it was illegal to not report tips anyway.

You also have to do tons of things at the same time. Besides the normal routine of serving a table, you must watch other tables (which is fine to help out others), answer phones, run everyones food, and work the cash register. While, I can understand that this may be normal, it is really hard to do on busy nights and if you can't do it you are repremanded.

On top of the small pay, you must pay the bussers out of your own pocket when they work no matter what you make. If you didn't earn enough tips to pay them, then you have to find your own money to pay them.
