Threats of lawsuit and phone harassment

This so called company contacted my wife concerning a payday loan which yes she does owe on one but to be fair we have not received any notification from them since they went out of business here. Now to the matter at hand these people contacted my wife claiming to be a law firm and threatened to take her to court over this matter unless she agreed to a settlement of 400.00 per month.

Before we allowed them to get any money my wife rightfully asked for some kind of documentation in the mail to verify who they were and what the money was to be paid for at which time the gentleman put her on hold saying he needed to talk to the main legal personnel after a few minutes he returned saying that according to their legal they were not required to send any kind of notification which my wife replied then fine we would contact a attorney ourselves over the matter.

The next morning a lady calls again threatening a lawsuit and tells us unless we are filing bankruptcy we would be getting a major lawsuit with jail time well this time i talked to her and informed her we would seek a attorney for them to go ahead a sue us to which she quickly replied screw you sir and hung up. Please do not let these ppl intimidate you into making payments without proper paperwork
