Contact FTC regarding problems

I have had a similar experience with Alliane One to many on this site. I did not have a debt, they were attempting to contact a person with a different, yet similar, last name who lived in a different city with a different social security number. We also had "Julie Smith" calling, with an obvious accent. They were calling at least 3-5 times a day even though we repeatedly told them we were not the people they were looking for.

I contacted the FTC (1-877-382-4357) and filed a complaint. They advised me to write a "cease all communications" letter to the company, sent certified mail with a return receipt. After they received the letter, they are permitted to only contact you one other time, which is to tell you they received this letter and would not be contacting you furthur. I received this phone call and continued to get five more phone calls. I documented everything and called the company again. I was told my number would be "dumped from the system" and the phone calls finally stopped.

I would advise anyone dealing with this company to either contact the FTC or the Attorney General before giving them ANY information. They asked us several times for my social security number but we did not give it to them. They are relentless. They would not give me the name of their company or address at any time. I finally just used the "caller ID" number (215-354-5500), called and said I needed to send them correspondence and was given the name and address of the company.
