El Cajon Mitsubishi
They refused to honor their committment

Business & Finance

I live in Arizona and was shopping for a particular car, while looking on-line I found the model and year I liked at ElCajon Motsubishi My wife and I contacted El Cajon Motsubishi regarding the vehicle they had for sale and made an appointment to see the vehicle on Friday May 22nd 2009. We drove to El Cajon from Arizona and arrived at the dealership and met the sales representative, Sarah Esquer who showed us the vehicle. The next day, I called Sarah and made her an offer on the vehicle of $14,000. She indicated she would have to talk to her manager and call back. She called 4 hours later later and said that they could not accept the offer but to call back the next day (Sunday) to see if anything had changed. I called and talked to Sarah the following day and she said that she had talked to her brother-in-law who owned the dealership and that since they had had such poor sales that weekend they would now accept my offer. As it was a holiday, I asked how she wanted payment (cashiers' check etc), and once again Sarah pormised to call back. We were unable to reach her the rest of Sunday, and when we called Monday (Memorial Day) were told she was off that day.instead we spoke to Joseph the manager on duty - to our surprise he said they would not honor Sarah's price, and the car would be over $16,500! No explanation of why they refused to honor their committment or break a verbal sales agreement. I respect any businessman's perogitive to sell his merchandise at a fair price and to decline all offers he sees as unsuitable, however, once you make a deal you ought to live up to it - apparently they can't do this at El Cajon Mitsubishi! If at all possible do not do business with El Cajon Mitsubishi - they are not trustworthy or honest and their sales representatives do not have the authority to make deals and will lie to you!
