American Express added charge - American Express

A recent bill showed a $99.99 charge for lost wallet protection from American Express. I am the Card Manager for the account which is in my elderly father's name. I am the account manager because my father can no longer manage his finances for reasons related to his health. When signing up for the account my father was asked specifically if he wanted this service and he answered NO. Despite the fact that the calls are recorded and monitored it is apparently not a charge that can be removed without my father being on the phone call, despite the fact that I was approved as the account manager. Because my father has extreme difficulty communicating it makes removal of this fee nearly impossible. Nice work AMEX! What is the point of becoming an account manager if you cannot manage the account? You are the ones who errantly added this charge and now I must deal with trying to get it removed! I have been a loyal customer for over 25 years but Capital One is looking very good to me about now.
