Read the fine print - Delta Gold AMEX Credit Card

For the first time since holding an American Express / Delta Skymiles co-branded card I was under the impression that my annual spending had reached the threshold bonus figure of $25,000 qualifying me for 10,000 bonus "MQMs" in my Delta Medallion account. I got to the end of the year, seeing that I had exceeded the amount by $170 and began to look for the bonus in my Delta Airlines account. I called American Express this morning to find out why I haven't received this bonus. I was told that I didn't have the required "qualified spending" and that I was short by a few hundred dollars. To me, this indicates a borderline fraudulant business practice. They solicited me to get this card because of the Airline rewards and used a technicality to deny me the reward. I cannot pick and choose which portion of my credit card statement to not-pay. It's all spending to me... Card fee, interest, foreign transaction fees, etc. It says, spend $25,000 and get 10,000 MQMs. I'm very unhappy with American Express.
