Still charge after you cancel

I had been an associate of the neighborhood Exercise 19 for 8 years, but I'd to stop due to individual real issues. I had been informed easily ended prior to the 15th of the month, that I'd not be billed for that following month. Affirmed, I had been billed anyhow for an additional month despite the fact that I ended about the 15th. How do I be charged for not utilizing the gym, particularly when I'm actually not able to make use of the gym. Appears extremely wrong and dishonest in my experience.
