Rip-off! Ruined credit score, billed for returned merchandize

I too paid $25.00 to apply for a line of credit with UNCB, but instead received a set of books. When I called them the next day to get the address and return them, I was told it was no problem and the account would be closed out.

5 years later, and without ever sending me a bill, I found out by pulling a credit report that ACE has been reporting me as over 90 days late payment for 5 years. This is outrageous!

When I called them, they said they never received the books back, and that any documentation must be faxed to their legal department for review. I will not pay their fees, it is a total scam.
