Fl. Credit Card Rip Off

I have had a credit card from Cross Country Bank since October.in March my address was 3205 Oak Ridge, Joplin, Missouri. I put a forwarding order in with the Post Office and moved, in March, to 4112 E. 10th Street, Joplin, MO. And have lived there since March.

I made application with CCB in October giving them the 4412 E. 10th Street address. I received my card and subsequent bills at that address until December, when for some reason CCB changed my address to to 3205 Oak Ridge. Since the forwarding order had expired I did not receive a December bill and have still not received one as of 1/2/02. I called CCB to find out why no bill had arrived and they told me I had given them the wrong address and they were assessing late fees which took the account over the limit and then they started assessing over limit fees. I told them I did not give that address and they told me this was my fault and I needed to give them checking account information over the phone which I refused to do until I had a bill in my possession.

As stated above I have yet to receive a bill. They have turned me over to collection at CCB and I am receiving calls daily, and I continue to ask for a bill which they will not send. This account is not even 30 days past due yet but I have already been sent to collection. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they told me I was not allowed to speak to anyone in charge and that all I could do was mail a letter explaining my situation but it was doubtful they would remove any fees.

After speaking to one of their collection representatives, I was informed that CCB occasionally reviews your credit and also cross references telephone numbers and if they find another address they randomly change it without notice and by the time you find out, they have assessed tremendous fees. I suppose I am going to be forced to pay these, however, if you know of any way I could get them back I would certainly be grateful.
