Refuses To Take Phone Calls

Co-pay for Northwest Family Physicians in the amt of $33.00 was owed in Sept. We paid NW Family Physicians in Rogers MN direct. On Oct. 1 2010 we received a refund check of $33.00 from NW Family Physicians. We also received a collection note from Northland Credit as NW Family Physicians turned the acct for our daughter Ashely to Collections.

I spoke with Northland Credit in early Nov. And explained I held in my hand a refund check for $33.00 but had a collection letter for $39. The rep from Northland said she would call her client NW family and fix the problem,
She was supposed to call me back and did not. We in the meantime received collection phone calls to the house... Even on a Sunday night.

I received another notice in the mail yesterday 1/18 dated 1/16 for the $39.00. I called the Northland Credit Office, gave them the acct number and asked to talk to someone. The receptionist at Northland Credit told me there was no one to speak to until noon. I said "That's dumb?" You are a collection agency and there is no one to talk too?

She told me I don't have to speak to anyone who is being rude" and hung up the phone. I called back and asked to talk to a manager. I also told the receptionist I was not being rude, I was attempting to clear up an ongoing credit problem. I also told her I was pretty sure Credit Agencies have to follow State of Minnesota rules and preventing me from trying to clear up my credit was breaking credit guidelines.

I asked to leave my number for her manager? She told me ' I went to customer service training and I can hang up on people being rude to me, and she hung the phone up again for a second time."

I called the Doctors office (Northwest Family Physicians) after Northland Credit refused to speak with me on 1/19. NW Family confirmed that the account was paid in full and had a zero balance.
