GE Money bank
GE Money Is this legal? And how many times a day can they call?

Business & Finance

I h ad lasik surgery several years ago and financed it thru GE Money.
The contract said that it would be interest free for 24 months provided you paid it off in that period. Well the girl in the office and I calculated what that would be and I faithfully paid it for 24 months. After that the company told me that they are charging me interest based on the whole amount going back to the beginning of the loan... And now I owe them a thousand more??? Is this legal? And now that I have made it clear that I am not going to pay, I have no less than 6 calls a day, starting in the early morning and to late at night, even on weekends. The numbers change every couple weeks. All indian, i reject most of them. Then I decided enough already, we must be able to reach an agreement, so I answered and they agreed to cut the amount due in half to 800.00 if I could pay 100.00 that day. And pay the rest within 3 months. Then I got a statement and the amount had not changed and they are demanding their money in full... 33% now and balance soon after..

My question. Is the practice of retroactively adding interest back to the beginning when the amount is not paid in a certain time legal? And how many times are they allowed to call me before it is harrassment.?
