Incompetent and or fraudulent billing shakedown techniques Montclair California

Incompetent staff at Pomona Valley Hospital/Urgent Care misfiled insurance claim papers, whereupon they received notification from my insurance company on how to file them correctly. They failed to act, and rather than refile the papers correctly, they sent the account to collections as a fake insurance claim.

I was unaware of the preceding SNAFU (they even messed up my mailing address so I didn't receive any bills from them) until I received a threatening letter from someone falsely perporting to be a lawyer from Golden State Credit.

When I called Pomona Valley Hospital's Urgent Care Center, the individual in billing - Meera - immediately apologized and admitted that it was a clerical error and they would re-submit the claim. I asked if they would call off the lawyers, and she assured me she would. My insurance company subsequently paid the claim IN FULL. Case closed, right?

No. Case just beginning.

To make a long story short, Pomona Valley got paid from my insurance, but wants me to pay again. They refuse to remove the credit report from my Experian report, and in fact replied to experian that I STILL OWE THE MONEY even though I have a faxed letter from Golden State Credit admitting that the case WAS A MISTAKE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CANCELLED.

Bottom line: GoldenSatte Credit says the report will remian for seven years, even though they ADMIT FREELY that it was a mistake in the first place, and I never owed the money in question. They suggest I PAY THE MONEY AGAIN IN CASH to get the nasty credit reports removed.

I filed a challenge with Experian, and Golden State Credit, acting on the instructions of Pomona Valley Hospital, responded that as far as they are concerned, still owe the money, even though my insurance comapny paid the bill IN FULL and I have a faxed letter from Golden State stating that the claim was a mistake!
