Falsely submitted my name to a collection agency before my insurance company had time to pay the bill

I received sevices from Huron Valley Ambulance to be transported to a major hospital. They had acquired my correct name and insurance from the hospital they routed me to. However they sent the bill to the wrong insurance company and the wrong address for payment due. I called HVA, spoke to Dawn, and gave her the correct information.

Because of their error of obtaining the correct information, they sent my name to a collection agency. Diversified Recovery Management, DRM, who in turn called my husband with a threat. I contacted my insurance carrier who called the collection agency explaining that they only received the bill 2 weeks prior and were processing it and had 30 to 45 days from the time they received the claim to pay it.

My name should have never been submitted to a collection agency before the insurance carrier had a chance to process the claim. The collection agency stated only HVA can have my name removed from the collection agency's profile who will submit my name to the three credit bureaus. Thus far, HVA have been paid but will not contact DRM to have my name stricken from their file.

I have good credit and attempting to have excellent credit. I have spoken to Nan Greer at HVA and Mrs. Dorty @ DRM Diversified Recovery Management (collection agency) and nothing has been resolved. Mrs. Dorty stated she will not remove my name from their file.

Presently, the bill has been paid in full except for an amount that will be paid in full shortly. I am very disqruntle each time I seen their ambulance and I would rather walk or die in the street than to have HVA service me ever again.
