Eastwood Insurance
Aka Homeland Insurance Aka Bristol West Ins. Misquoted the cost tried to charge me over two hundred in non-returnable fees

Business & Finance

I had to file a complaint with the Texas Insurance Dpt. That oversees insurance companies here in Texas to get my money back. I was quoted one fee, then charged another fee, then a still higher fee, totalling over a hundred a month more than first quoted and nearly two hundred and fifty in non-refundable fees charged.

Also, another person was added on my account and could not get it erased. When I tried to get the insurance cancelled, I was forced to try and deal with three different agencies, all of which claimed they didn't understand what I wanted. After paying over five hundred dollars and making several phone calls and writing two letters, I was still being billed by this company.

I had and still have insurance with another company and never had insurance in effect with Eastwood Insurance. They returned some of my money after two months, but wanted to keep over a hundred dollars in fees that they said were non-refundable. It took me three months and filing a complaint with the insurance commission before I received my other money.

Up to the time I received the check, I was still receiving threatening letters billing me for eighty dollars and the name of a non-existant person was still included on the statements along with mine, with them requesting information on this person and threatening me with cancellation of my policy if they didn't get the information. This was a total nightmare.

I was promised and told things that weren't given to me and I was shifted from one person to another when I asked for my money back. It took me over two months to get four hundred of my money back and another month to get the other one hundred plus back. I found I was dealing with a company that went under four different names! Don't sign any papers with this company as they charge a load of fees for such things as going out and looking over your car for damages, faxing, paperwork, pictures of your car, etc.

They tell you to sign and you'll only be charged if insurance is started at the price they quote, but this isn't so. They find ways to up the price and then want to keep a large portion of the money for fees. I went into the office, took a few days on a trip, and got back to find a request for more money in my mailbox. I called the agent about one week after being in his office and was told I would have to call another company to stop the insurance from becoming effective on the start date, which was one month later.

The company I called sent me back to the agent and it went on like that, back and forth, for over another month. These people are brokers and the agent you deal with only sells the policy, he doesn't deal with you after you sign the papers. This was a nighmare.
