Charter One Bank
Ripoff misleading deceptive sneaky rude illegal bad business

Business & Finance

Charter One Bank (formerly First Federal Bank) is a Bank where I thought I could begin a savings program instead I ended up with a fee program. Total Free Checking is what lurded me into starting an account, besides my friends had an account with these thieves. They get you with the offer of $50 to start the account then after you activate direct deposit you receive an additional $50, that's about what I've paid in NSF (non sufficient funds) due to overwithdrawals. I've only had this account for 2 months and I'm already prepared to close the account.! Beware, whenever you call the 1-877-CHARTER number to check your BALANCES (more than twice a month) you account holders are being charged $0.50 for each call thereafter! That's what cause my account be be overwithdrawn $26.50. Then $100 for them covering the fee and an additional $33.00 every 3 days the account is in default.

P.S. When trying to resolve an account problem associated with fees, I found it more beneficial to speak to Customer Service Associate as oppose to the Bank Manager because the bank loses money with fee reversals. Therefore for the best results contact a neutural resource.
