Legit or Not?

My husband received a call on his work cel (restricted number) from a woman stating she needed to talk to me in regards to a legal matter and that I was being summoned to court. She left a case number along with a phone number (877-340-8129) to which I called and spoke to Rick Gamble. He said the matter was in regards to a very old outstanding credit card debt that I thought was taken care of along time ago. He said a settlement letter was sent to me (which I never received). He said the original balance was $621.02 but with interest/attorney/legal fees it was now $3,100. He would be willing to settle for $1,650 if I paid with a credit/debit card today if not, then I would be sued and if i didn't pay after court, he implied prison time! I was shocked.

Discussed it with my husband and all we could afford to offer was the $621.02. Mr. Gamble accepted the offer and emailed me a settlement offer letter but no actual document of the original bill, no real proof that I in fact owed this money. Did a little research and found this sight. The address he gave me is in fact a UPS store in Anaheim, CA. My husband called him back and requested proof of an actual bill before we went any further. Mr. Gamble refused and said we would have to wait for my court date to see any documentation and hung up.

BTW... Dealt with Rick Gamble. Email address was from a Justin Morris but the letter was from Wayne Allen.

Thank you to everyone who posted warnings about this company. I almost got taken and thanks to you all I didn't! I hope someone puts a stop to these people!
