Foreclosure

I found out the day before Thanksgiving Fairbanks foreclosed on my mortgage. I never received notification instead, a local realtor stuffed a flyer in my mailbox labeled "keys for cash". I called to inquire and was informed Fairbanks had foreclosed. When I called Fairbanks they verified the information.

December I skipped a payment to buy some xmas gifts (for my kids) and catch up on some bills. I had been laid off from work in September. I sent in the payment before January 1. Fairbanks notified me telling me I was in default and they were foreclosing. After hours on the phone we had reached an agreement and I resumed payments (payments they had refused). Since I do my banking online I had no idea my September and October payments were refused. They were sending mail addressed to my late husband (he had been dead 5 years by then) with no return address. After 5 years I thought mail addressed to him was junk mail.

I did consult an attorney and he "bought" me a little extra time. This is my last night in this house and I do not have my own place yet.
