Independent Bank West Michigan Unfair Overdraft Charges after SIGNED AGREEMENT TO STOP! Twice!

Independent Bank is where i opened my very first checking and savings account. When i did this they asked me to opt in to overdraft protection and explained that they would cover charges for a 30.00 fee. I said NO! Within one month of being with I.B. I got a letter stating my account was over drafted. I called and complained to them, they said that they would refund any fees, and that i had to come to the office to sign a paper stating that i did not want over draft protection... So i did and everything went great... For a while.

A few months later i my mom, whom i lived with at the time, got a call on our house phone. A rep from the bank told her that my account was over drafted nearly 500.00... She called me and told me, so i called the bank yet again and complained... They explained to me that i had opted in to this service and that they were only going to refund half of the fees.
