This is a fake sweepstakes winning that comes with a check. The envelope will have no return address and come from a different city & state than the company. It WON'T come certified mail with signature confirmation—just standard mail. It will say (or something very similiar to):

CONGRATULATIONS!
You have been announced one of the lucky winners in the "CONSUMER PROMOTION SWEEPSTAKES DRAWING" organized for all customers of the participating retail stores in the United States and United Kingdom. Wal-Mart, Kroger, Sears, Harvest food, Home depot, Dillard's, JC Penny's Best buy, Office depot, Staples, Safeway, K-mart, Target.
One of your receipts from the store, with serial number [random number] attached to your name drew the lucky winning numbers [random numbers].

You are therefore entitled to the sum of [random dollar amount] payable to you by CERTIFIED CHECK, and will be delivered to you by our designated special courier service. You are advised to contact your assigned claims agent,
