Illegal collections and harassment

A Kim Moreno from this company called for the first time today. I have never received any contact from them previously; however, they called my home, my work and my relatives all with the same message that I was going to be served for a debt to Cash Advance Network because I had failed to respond to their attempts to contact me.

First, they had never previously attempted to contact me. Second, I am in a Chapter 13 and thus protected from contact by them or the company they represent and I have proof that the company was legally notified when I filed.

She tried to pretend that she was a process server on their behalf and told me I needed to contact them directly at 877-236-9877. When I called and tried to discuss it with them, Rita, the individual with whom I spoke was rude and unprofessional, but tried to say I was yelling at her when I was not. All I did was ask what company she represented and when she finally told me, I said that the contact was illegal because they had been legally notified of my Chapter 13. At that point she hung up. When I tried to call back, hoping to get someone else, she answered again and hung up. Not very professional. Plan to file complaints with Better Business Bureau and Chapter 13 Trustee's office.
