I was contacted by J, M & W about a business debt. The initial letter was fairly standard format but did insinuate that they were a law firm, or at least had a legal department, which I have since found they are not, and do not even have any lawyers on staff.

I responded by e mail, acknowledging the debt and making an offer of payment for a portion of the balance, while I reviewed the remaining portion of the balance for its validity. My only response was a threatening letter, not accepting the partial payment.

Since then I have received a barage of email, fax, phone calls, voice mail messages, and even texts, that were rude and harassing, finally resulting in threatening legal action and forensic investigation.

I have hired collection agencies for our business in the past and none of them have had such incredibly unprofessional behavior.
