False credit card offer is a ripoff

On 12/19/03 I recieved a phone call offering a $5000 credit card. Since I am trying to fix my credit rating, and the use of a card that large would help me alot, I agreed and gave my bank account #. On 12/24/03 they took $149.00 from my account, the date agreed during the phone conversation was the 29th. As a result I was unable to make a different payment for a student loan. I recieved a card on the 28th saying thank you for my payment.

I have made about 12-15 calls to their (888) 270-0089 phone number and have never been called back. Today I saw the corporate number and called there. They gave me a different number which I called and left a message. I have read enough reports that I will be taking action. Thanks for the help and information. I will be taking other actions over the next few days and will give you an update later. Again, Thanks...
