Ripoff scam threatening phone calls demanding money, no legal proof backing them up

My husband is currently being harrassed by JBC. He is recieving very harrassing phone calls demanding that he pay $291.99 for a " bad check" he apparently wrote 9 years ago to Good Guys. My husband told them he wasn't paying anything without any proof of the check. They told him it would take six weeks to get a copy of the check and by then he would owe $1,800.00 so he would be better off paying the $291.99. When my husband asked why it took them 9 years to inform us, they said they have been trying to contact us for 9 years. (???)

My husband and I have been stressed and fighting over this whole matter since November. I'm glad I took the time to check out this website and will be contacting my lawyer. Thanks to everyone for sharing their stories.
