Modification Company took our money and ran away with it. Phone lines were disconnected and place was deserted. The representaive didn't care to return any of our phone calls or emails with a status

We went to MOD by Lawyers in hopes of modifying our existing mortgage to one that both me and my wife could afford. The contract we signed stated specifically that we would get half our money back if no modification was to be approved. Our problem was that we paid up front because the representative, Eddie Mercado, notified us that if we didn't sign-on with them quick, that there would be a law that would basically not allow us to get any help from lawyers to help us modify our home. He even made it seem like it was gonna be national news which never came to fruition.
I informed Eddie that I would be going away for atleast a year for the military. He said thats fine and that he would call my wife if he needed anything. So much for honoring the military. Anyways, when I came back from serving overseas, I expected the company to give us any kind of status report, but not even that. The company and their representative were unresponsive.

It was more than a year now since I we last saw them, even our lender had no record that they even called.
When I went to their offices on a Monday, it was totally shut down. No cars in the parking lot, no people, doors closed. Eddie's number was on voicemail and the companys' business number was disconnected. A sure sign that me and my wife got ripped off!
