I was shopping online a few months ago, short on cash, I'm on a fixed income, looking for REAL payday loans. Filled out an application online to apply for payday loan. A bunch of places popped up saying "I was preapproved" for several loans and advances on some debit cards I did not need. It spooked me so I deleted all of my info, opted out of all offers, or so I thought, and decided to just tough it out without the extra cash. A few weeks later I get these debit cards in the mail from netspend and account now prepaid cards programs. I really just ignored them, didn't throw them away, but I had no intention of ever activating them let alone using them, I don't give anyone my personal info, and they wanted my social security number just to cancel the cards, when I tricked customer service into answering my call by pushing option 1 on the menu, for lost or stolen cards ONLY it said. So after they electronically transferred over $100. Out of an account at my bank that I seldom access, causing overdrafts in two separate accounts. I figured out who it was, Netspend!
